3 Month Ban are made up of:

VOCALS - Graham Brittain

Contact: graham@3monthban.com

A.K.A. Shark since the band formed - don't ask me why! Doing this is a bit of a dream come true for me as I've been hanging around with bands and wishing I was in one myself for as long as I can remember. Finally got it together and got some proper singing lessons from the wonderful Katie at Vocaltech and this gave me more technical understanding about singing and the confidence to perform with 3 Month Ban. (By the way the band name is down to Lee and me - we were caught speeding in France on our Yamaha R1's and given appropriate punishment for our sins!) I use a wireless Shure Beta 58A mic with Shure PGX transmitter/receiver, which works amazingly well and means I don't get tangled up with Mic leads - its just one less thing to worry about. The PA gear includes Mackie 450 active speakers and 15" active sub, all running from a Yamaha MG16FX mixer, which has some cool echo and reverb effects which are good for stuff like Led Zep and White Stripes.

GUITAR & KEYBOARDS - Stuart Chapman

I think my parents must have slipped some Cannibis, battery acid or LSD into my baby food when I popped out into the world all those years ago. My father's favourite dinner time story recalls the time he took me back to the hospital in my first few years on the planet fearing that there might be something wrong with me. The doctors checked me out and diagnosed 'extreme tendancy to hyperactivity'.....he then said to my dad..."Your son will be fine, and will cope with it.......we're just not sure about you and your wife!" I generally play my Gibson SG standard, occasionally reverting to my white Gibson Les Paul which has the gravitational mass of a small planet and actually bends light so that I disappear as I'm playing it. The guitar rig is by Vox with a load of pedals and digital effects and the keys are by Korg.

DRUMS - Lee Coles

Always been a noisy person and so as well as riding a very loud KTM 660 SMC motorbike, I play drums. Played for about 15 years on and off, mainly off sadly due to the neighbours of my one bed flat not having the same appreciation for drums as me - never understood that !?! Anyway, i'm now thoroughly enjoying myself performing and making more noise than ever before with 3monthban. I play a Pearl Export kit, Remus Ambassador skins, use Vic Firth sticks, Zildjian cymbals and Janus Ergo Double Bass pedal. Musical influences have to be the old classics such as Metallica, Megadeth and Maiden....always said one day i'll be able to play drums like those boys......and at 29 i'm still saying it !!

BASS GUITAR - Nigel Middleton

Contact: nigel@3monthban.com

(Also known as `Dan` - its a long story!!) This is something of a second coming for my rock aspirations having played lead guitar in a heavy rock group in my teens (a few years back now :-) ).Currently found on bass guitar and backing vocals, turning everything up to 11 on my Behringer 450 watt bass head, running through a Yamaha 2x10 and an awesome Peavey Black Widow 1x15 cab.
I use an Ibanez Soundgear SRX505 5 string bass - a true heavy rock weapon !! - backed up by my original Stagg 5 string bass (model is a mystery) and just to confuse matters, an occasional airing of my Gibson SG Standard, as used by my axe hero, Angus Young, for those classic Whole Lotta Rosie moments when i get the chance to play lead guitar.
Not yet been seduced by the dark side that is the KTM supermoto - still headbanging away on my totally banzai R1 ; a 3 month ban cannot be far away !!!!!

GUITAR - Nick Kidney

The only bike I ever rode was a Raleigh Chopper which I won in a competition. And since its top speed was about 5mph, I don’t think it really counts. So quite how I came to end up playing in a band of bikers is something of a mystery. Nonetheless, I have been doing for several months now. Mainly on my trusty old Gibson Les Paul, which I had no idea could make quite so much noise. When it isn’t that, it’s a shiny new Fender Telecaster which I use for the songs that don’t have to sound like you’re digging up the road!

Our next gigs

Our last gig was before Christmas at The Grove Tavern - thanks to all who showed up to support us. We've been out of action for a while while drummer boy recovers from his wrist operations. Next up in 2008 is a birthday party at O'Neills, 73 Euston Road (opposite St Pancras Station) on April 5th. All welcome!
